Previously known as Penang International Sports Arena (PISA), the Subterranean Penang International Convention and Exhibition Centre (SPICE) is one of Penang’s proudest addition to the S P Setia Bhd Group development. Amongst the other event spaces in the vicinity like SPICE Arena, SPICE Aquatic Centre, SPICE Canopy and a business class hotel, the Setia SPICE Convention Centre has now become an ideal venue for conventions and conferences.

Deemed the first hybrid solar powered Convention Centre and Eco Green GBI certified, SPICE houses a large ballroom that is capable of catering up to 8000 pax in a theatre seating, 4000 pax for a banquet seating and 3000 pax for classroom seating. The convention centre is supported by 13 function rooms located on both lower and upper ground floors, and has a grand foyer of 2000 square meters for an arrangement of 100 exhibition booths.

Besides the large space, the convention centre is also well-equipped with various facilities that include audio and visual, adjustable house lighting and high speed WiFi up to .  The main facility highlight is atop the convention centre’s 6-acre green rooftop park: a special needs children’s playground. Certified by The Malaysian Book of Records to be ‘The Largest Rooftop Recreational Park’ in Malaysia, the place is designed to be a modern landscape equipped with greenery; including a Japanese inspired bamboo garden and the largest collection of urban spices – perfect for parties and soft launches beneath the stars.

On the other hand, the Setia SPICE Arena is 3100 square meters big with 10,000 terrace seats. Both the arena and the concourse are able to house 360 exhibition booths. With 7 functional rooms available for your perusal, you can be certain your meetings will be carried out in a breeze. It is also easily accessible from the convention centre through a covered walkway.

SPICE Arena is known as the largest and most comprehensive venue that is able to accommodate large scale events with big crowds. With 33,000 square feet of uninterrupted space and surrounded by 10,000 terrace seats, organisers will be able to reach out to larger audiences through international concerts, recognition nights and other business occasions.
